Fallen Heroes - Temporary Victims
April 20, 2008 10:46 am SoulGameMost overly strong heroes are temporarily thrown back to the vulnerable victim stage as they try to deal with their shame and shock of being overthrown with ensuing scandals.
At this point the former leader wisely usually turns to seek help himself in order to triumph over his own destructive patterns.
These temporary fallen leaders have actually been my favorite clients, as once the shock wears off, they delve into their feelings the easiest which is what it takes. Besides, I well remember when I was too strong and overthrown myself quite royally I might add, complete with a horrific scandal. It turned out to be my time of greatest personal growth.
I always help the fallen hero tackle his victim scenarios as a child and as adult, releasing the emotional pain of abandonment and rejection he experienced. In this way our overthrown and fallen hero saves his own victim self instead of trying to save himself through others. That is usually where his overwhelming strength came from, frantically trying to save himself by saving others, which he never understood. And since he’s so sure they could perish if his instructions weren’t followed exactly, he tried to force them to do it exactly his way.
His overthrow actually turns out to be a blessing, as to balance his over strong energy, he now saves his own victim self.
After saving himself, our hero can now genuinely help others most of the time without hurting and controlling them. There will be room for co-leadership, co-heroes, and for the victims to find their own methods to save themselves in a supportive environment. Most of the time our fallen hero on his rise to hero once again feels grateful to the junior hero that overthrew him.
Now that we have a positive heroine who can win the Soul Game, contending with other players, the real adventure begins.
The rewards of playing the Soul Game are virtues A hero therefore has to play the game in such a way that he ends up with virtues, not vices. So his triumph must not be fueled by blame and hatred but by compassion and passion. Strength and power are still needed and are virtues, just not the the extremes, or misuse of power That is both the journey and the adventure ahead of finding just the right proportion of strength which brings about life.
Our heroine must contend with players who are evil, fueled by the intention to hurt and destroy. They are not innocent, not poor misunderstood people, but villains who love to prove that there are no heroes, it is all a matter of price. Ah, the traps of the extremes of power, of fame, of wealth, of sex, of exquisite food, of love!
Will our heroine be able to avoid those? If she no longer feels like a victim, and has triumphed over her own harmful actions, she may stand a chance. Otherwise, she will go through more experiences to teach her the harm of extremes a little longer until she feels the power of the balance. Then glamour lose its attraction for her and she will feel it for the trap that it is.
Virtues such as compassion, simplicity, elegance, balance have such a sweet feeling that our true heroine is no longer pulled to the harshness of extremes. And that’s when she can truly serve without hurting, as she can genuinely connect with herself and connect with the sweetness in others and coax it all the way out.
